My journey...
After earning my BSc in Psychology while working full-time in social care, I went on to fund my MSc in Psychology — and was over the moon when I had the opportunity to write my dissertation on mindfulness. I’ve been meditating since I was about 12, so it felt like everything was coming full circle.
I originally planned to train as a therapist after my MSc, but when the opportunity came up to do a PhD in mindfulness, I couldn’t resist. That led me into university teaching and research, and eventually into a permanent academic role I truly loved. Cue the happily-ever-after music.
For a long time, everything ticked along just fine. But when I hit 43, something shifted. My body started changing — and the things that had always worked just… didn’t anymore. Month by month, the weight crept up. I was eating well, but I felt exhausted, uncomfortable, and increasingly frustrated. I didn’t recognise the woman in the mirror — and I felt like I’d lost control of my body.
That’s when I found the FASTer Way.
Finally, I had a plan — one rooted in real science, delivered with the support of a coach and a community of women who understood. Within a few weeks, I was sleeping better, feeling more energised, and genuinely excited about what I was learning. It turns out, fuelling your body is about so much more than “calories in, calories out.”
Before joining the programme, I kept hearing about strength training — but I didn’t know where to start. Now? I love it. I love *all* of it. The structure, the support, the way it fits into real life. That’s why I joined the VIP group after my first six weeks — and why I became a coach.
Now I support other women in midlife who feel like they’ve lost control of their bodies — helping them build strength, restore energy, and feel more at home in themselves again.
